Reading about how the CFPB—now under attack from Trump’s DOGE team and Musk—had even started protecting gamers from predatory finance is both surprising and crucial. It’s a reminder that consumer safeguards touch all corners of our lives, including how we pay in games. i read this with morbid bemusement. there is practically nothing that is happening that wasn't foreshadowed in the heritage docs and in some cases musk, trumo, vance, and others.

it's like they told people and no one carried or listened until now.

this was forwarded to me a short while back.... brazen and brilliant 20yo prediction: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality-based_community
