Great article as always! I loved my time with Is This Seat Taken despite not playing much of those games. Something about making the little shapes happy was satisfying so it’s great that your daughter has been loving it. Spread the Indie love to all! Also, according to Team Cherry’s website and other promotional materials, it should be Silksong in one word as opposed to two words as is the case in your writeup of it. I’m glad you’re loving the game! It’s also interesting that many people are keeping engaged with the game based on the achievement list. A good story in the future: What are the statistics like for people finishing games? Have a great rest of your day!
After 2 hours of fruitlessly alternating between Steam, eShop, and PS Store (where it was seemingly delisted), I ended up buying the GOG version of Silksong lol
A rare example of why pre-orders are a good thing for consumers, better to let people planning to play day 1 purchase and pre-load at their own convenience than have everyone try to buy the game at the same time. I can't remember anything like this launch.
Oh, and if you're struggling with Lace, she seems to be an interactive check for whether you got comfortable using that dash skill you had to obtain to get to her.
When she jumps, dash below her and punish. Otherwise jump and dash above her and hit her once in the back after landing. Get in the habit of dashing away from her as soon you hit her, sometimes she'll parry you and then do that whirlwind-style of attack that just shreds you, I probably died half a dozen times to it.
Stick to the center of the arena, it gives you more room to maneuver. If she overcommits, it's possible to push her into lava for massive damage, but that's purely up to RNG.
She goes down in like 25 hits, or fewer if you manage to push her into lava. She can also be staggered if you're aggressive enough, giving you enough time to get 3 free hits in.
Is this Seat Taken? looks like something my wife would enjoy. She's been playing Arceus for the first time and is almost finished. Maybe this will be our next game...
I would not have thought Bananza would have that nauseating effect. My wife and I were both done in by AstroBot last year. We thought there was a gas leak the way we were feeling! But nope. Just AstroBot.
Every studio has a developer working in secret on something cool. Those are often the best ideas, some of them are acts of defiance against production realities.
