An old Activision idea from the 1980s has led to some incredible things in the 2020s for Panic, the publisher of Despelote, Arco and Time Flies: “The range of things we received was wild."
I loved finding that message at the end of Thank Goodness You're Here (which is wonderfully hilarious, loved it). I meant to send the letter for weeks but never got round to it. I hope this reminder makes me do it one day. Panic are amazing, such a unique company! I first knew of them for their amazing Katamari t-shirts haha.
This was wonderful to read about. Arco and TGYH were two of the best games I played in the last year. I’m sad that I missed discovering this in the credits organically. Particularly because I recall an article with the Arco devs where they lamented the poor sales of their game and the lack of demand for novel work. It was heartbreaking to read that given what a masterpiece Arco is.
I tried sending a letter to Panic from the UK, and it got returned :( not sure what happened there, and I didn't try again. I'm glad they've effectively received a ton of mail.
