Video games are still loved by many, but video game consoles? Maybe not so much.

Spending on consoles in the U.S. dropped 43% in April compared to the same time a year ago, according to the latest market figures released today by Circana.

The declines were “steeper than I expected,” Circana analyst Mat Piscatella said on social media.

All three major consoles dropped at least 26% year-on-year, with Switch down about 69%, he shared.
